Bring Your Meds & Supplements

Please bring all medications and supplements to your first visit or have them on hand for virtual appointments. This helps your practitioner review labels and ingredients so we have a clear picture of everything you’re taking.

Your First Visit

Your initial appointment is typically 60–120 minutes and focused entirely on you. We’ll meet to discuss your health concerns, review your medical history, and complete a physical exam if appropriate. If helpful, we may recommend additional testing to better understand your needs.

By the end of your visit, you’ll receive a personalized treatment plan designed to address underlying imbalances and support your path toward optimal health.

Return Visits

Follow-up appointments are usually 30–60 minutes and serve as supportive check-ins. We’ll review your progress, celebrate improvements, and fine-tune your treatment plan as needed. A physical exam or additional testing may be recommended based on your goals and condition.

Messages related to new concerns, medication adjustment, or visits beyond the past two weeks may require a brief phone or standard appointment. For privacy and security, we do not communicate about your medical care via email.

We kindly ask for 48-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments will incur a $100 fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine is a personalized, patient-centered approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness or imbalance in the body. It considers the complex interactions between genetics, environment, and lifestyle factors to optimize health and prevent disease.

How is Prosper Natural Health Different from Conventional Medicine?

At Prosper Natural Health, our doctors spend more time with you (our first session is an hour or more!), order more comprehensive lab testing than routine labs, and formulate a unique care plan just for you. We pride ourselves in teaching our clients about their health and empowering them in their health decisions.

What Conditions Can Functional Medicine Address?

Functional medicine can address a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions, including digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune diseases, metabolic issues, chronic fatigue, and more. It’s particularly effective for conditions with complex underlying causes. Naturopathic medicine

What Can I Expect During a Functional Medicine Consultation?

During a functional medicine consultation, you can expect a comprehensive assessment of your health history, symptoms, lifestyle factors, and environmental influences. Your practitioner will work with you to develop a personalized wellness plan focused on addressing the root causes of your health concerns.

What Conditions Do You Treat?

We treat a wide range of chronic and complex conditions, including gut health issues, hormone imbalances (perimenopause and menopause), autoimmune conditions, food sensitivities, thyroid disorders, metabolic and cardiovascular health.

How Long Does it Take to See Results with Functional Medicine?

The timeline for seeing results with functional medicine varies depending on the complexity of your health issues, your adherence to the wellness plan, and other factors. While some patients experience improvements in symptoms relatively quickly, achieving long-term wellness often requires ongoing commitment and patience.

Can I Work with You If I Don’t Live Near the Wellness Center?

Absolutely. Our clients are welcome to have both in-person and virtual care. You can meet with your practitioners via telemedicine, from the comfort of your own space.

Our providers are licensed in Washington state. If you are receiving care in Washington state, a formal physician–patient relationship can be established, which allows the doctor to provide medical care such as diagnosis, treatment, ordering labs, and prescribing when appropriate. For clients located outside of Washington, our providers work in a health consultant role, meaning the relationship is educational and supportive rather than medical. In this setting, the doctor can review your health history, discuss functional medicine concepts, and offer general wellness guidance, but cannot officially diagnose, treat medical conditions or prescribe prescription medications. This distinction ensures care stays compliant with state licensing laws while still giving you access to expert insight and education even if you don’t live in Washington.

Does Prosper Natural Health Take Insurance?

To provide you with the highest quality of healthcare, Prosper Natural Health does not contract with insurance companies. The medical insurance system has created a healthcare system where the doctor-patient interaction is rushed and the insurance company dictates medical treatment. You will never experience this at Prosper Natural Health. This means that our providers do not bill insurance companies for the goods and services that you receive, and your payment is due at the time of service.

For Washington state residents, we are happy to provide you with the necessary codes and paperwork to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. At the time of service, you may request a “superbill” which will have all the necessary coding information for your insurance carrier. Reimbursement rates vary, so please call your insurance provider to determine your coverage for a primary care physician who is an “out-of-network provider.”

Our visits and recommended supplements are FSA/HSA eligible. Payment is always due at time of service. Outstanding balances will be charged to the credit card on file.
